Rhytec Announces An Advancement for Portrait® Plasma Technology

25mm Stand-off Presents New Treatment Options

Rhytec is expanding the use of Portrait® Plasma and its offering of new options for patients seeking cosmetic improvements. We are pleased to introduce a new 25mm stand-off attachment for the current Portrait® Plasma handpiece. With this special attachment, Portrait® Plasma provides a nominal 65% of the displayed energy setting (i.e., 1 Joule setting provides .65 J delivered to the skin.) There are several advantages for using this standoff.

  • Covers a larger treatment area per plasma pulse when increasing the distance from the skin’s surface
  • Shorter procedure time, especially for off-face treatments
  • Provides consistent distance to the skin’s surface when delivering very low energy or feathering treatments
  • Comfortable treatment & further minimizes recovery at low energy settings

In a recent study conducted by Eric Bernstein, MD, pulses of plasma were delivered using an increased distance from the skin at a 1 J setting. Dr. Bernstein noted improvement in skin texture, fine lines, and pigmentary alterations. He observed Portrait® Plasma procedures were easily tolerated by patients using only a moisturizer (no topical anesthesia) beforehand at the lowest energy settings. Dr. Bernstein commented, “My patients in the study were extremely pleased with the results and I could immediately see the effects”.
